Program Presentation
Good diet and sports are fundamental pillars of a healthy lifestyle. Its benefits have been widely supported by numerous research studies that show that a healthy diet and regular physical activity as part of the general population's lifestyle habits have a direct impact on a longer and higher quality of life.
In addition, athletes are increasingly aware of the importance of nutrition on their physical performance, recovery after exercise, and injury prevention/recovery. Ensuring the correct energy and nutritional intake adapted to the individual characteristics of the athlete, the sport discipline and the time of training or competition will guarantee better sporting performances as well as prevent injuries.
On the other hand, there are a great variety of food and sports myths that can jeopardize the health of the individual. In this sense, the program in Nutrition and Dietetics Applied to Sports enables to critically judge them and assess their scientific evidence.
Who is the programme for?
The proposed training methodology, together with the clarity, comprehensiveness and didactic design of the contents, allows the Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics Applied to Sports program to be aimed at all those professionals with an interest in physical activity and nutrition for health promotion, and performance nutrition and sport.
The Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics Applied to Sports program is aimed at:
- University graduates who, due to their professional practice, wish to specialize in Nutrition, Dietetics and/or Sports.
- Professionals without a university degree who have their own interest in Nutrition, Food, Dietetics, and Sports.
Diploma
Successful completion of the Program will award the degree of Specialization in Specialization in NUTRITION AND DIETETICS APPLIED TO SPORTS.
After the program has been successfully completed, the student will receive the degree as issued by the University where they are enrolled.

It should be noted that the duration is merely indicative, since the methodology followed integrates the knowledge and skills to be acquired in each part, through integrative exercises for acquiring knowledge and internalizing project practices:

Duration
The program in Nutrition and Dietetics Applied to Sport has 45 credits.
The duration of the program in Nutrition and Dietetics Applied to Sport varies between 9 and 12 months, depending on the student's dedication. In this period of time, the student must have successfully passed all the evaluated activities and approved the Final Project, if any.

General Objective
- Recognizing the importance of nutrition and physical activity as pillars of a healthy lifestyle, and of nutrition as an essential part of an athlete's training.
Specific Objectives
- Strengthening the conceptual foundations of nutrition, physical activity, and sport sciences.
- Assessing the role of physical activity and nutrition in health promotion.
- Analyzing how optimal dietary planning and proper physical training are necessary for maintaining the athlete's health and meeting their sporting demands.
- Having accurate, up-to-date and evidence-based information regarding ergogenic aids and doping.
- Highlighting the most frequent eating disorders in the sports context.

- Collaborator in high-performance sports centers, fitness/wellness chains, clubs, and sports centers.
- Advisor on nutritional and sports aspects to physically active people or athletes.

Once the documentation is received, the Evaluation Committee will determine your application's eligibility for the FUNIBER Training Scholarship.
