Program Presentation
The Master in International Law and Business (MILB) is a program that responds to the changing panoramic of international business and commerce. The new economic tendencies, the mass consumption and the new technologies have opened unprecedented doors for the realization of commercial transactions. From this relation range, a series of impositions that require specialized legal attention are derived. The legal scientific doctrine and the legislation do not walk at the same rhythm as international commerce, and as we all know, there is no obligatory international commercial right to apply for these relationships. Based on all of this, the international law and business program seeks to combine in a practical way the different legal institutions to carry out a systemic and ordered approximation towards the legal framework of international businesses.
Understanding that international law and business by nature is a composed and interdisciplinary science, the Master’s program seeks to unify all the necessary legal disciplines into one academic proposal to enable a lawyer to professionalize in the subject.
Who is the programme for?
This program is specifically aimed at Law graduates that wish to develop the skills and techniques needed to work in professional offices, or consultancies of high international vocation.
The Master’s Degree in International Law and Business is also aimed at entrepreneurs, managers and professionals involved in international business law, as well as recent university graduates with a bachelor’s degree in Law that wish to acquire knowledge on legal international business management.
Diploma
Successful completion of the Program will enable you to be awarded the degree in Master in International Law and Business.
After successfully completing the Program, the student will receive the degree as awarded by the University where they have enrolled.
Program Structure
The estimated duration for the completion of the Master’s Degree in International Law and Business is 900 hours.
Regarding the distribution of time it is established that:
- As it is an online Program, and it is not required to attend in-class, a specific start date is not established, which means the student can sign up for the class at any moment, as long as there are available spaces.
- For academic and learning purposes it has a minimum duration of six months, in exceptional cases.
- The maximum duration to complete the program is 1 year. During this period, the student must have handed in all of the corresponding evaluations of the subjects and the Final Project or Thesis

a. One (1) ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credit is equivalent to 10 hours. If the student is taking the Program enrolled in a university that isn’t part of the European Higher Education Area, the relation between credits – hours may vary.
Duration
The Master's Degree in International Law and Business has 90 credits.
The duration of the Master's Degree in International Law and Business varies between 12 and 24 months, depending on the student's dedication. In this period of time, the student must have successfully passed all the evaluated activities and approved the Final Project.
Objectives
General objective
- The main objective of the Master’s Degree in International Law and Business is to train jurists that wish to professionally dedicate themselves to the practice of law within the lines of international business.
Specific Objectives
- Provide legal advice and assistance to business organizations whose main focus is on international operations.
- Hold positions of responsibility in companies, institutions and multinational business associations.
- Understand the function and operations of international agents that determine the growth of markets and those of trade operations, and investment abroad.
- Identify, analyze and develop business opportunities in upcoming markets.
- Effectively manage a foreign trade department in a multinational company.
- Initiate, manage and maintain business activities in a foreign area efficiently.
- Strategically advise their clients so that they may achieve their business goals quickly and efficiently.
